The Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information (CPRFAPI) promoted today in the “Holiday Inn” Hotel the new Albanian language version of their web portal. The President of the Commission, Janko Nikolovski, greeted the guests at the promotion, among which the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, Rafiz Aliti, the Vice President of the Government, Abdulaqim Ademi and the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Xhelal Bajrami. The President stressed that the web page contains all the data concerning the activities of the Commission, and that its only purpose is to help in the further introduction of the public to this new democratic right guaranteed by the Constitution of the State.
The Vice President of the Commission, Blerim Iseni, spoke about the importance and the details concerning this project. He pointed out that, having in mind the current technical development, as well as the increasingly dynamic need for completing the legal obligations and functions of the Commission, this step would be necessary. “This initiative is being undertaken since February, when we started translating all the documents, the Laws, the conventions and everything else necessary for the Albanian citizens to easily reach the requested information. Over 700 pages are translated into Albanian, containing also all the brochures”, Iseni added.
This action of the Commission was greeted by the Vice President of the Parliament of the Republic of Macedonia, Rafiz Aliti, who stressed that “What happens here today is in the spirit of the Ohrid Framework Agreement and in the spirit of what Macedonia is aiming towards – becoming a member of the EU, where all the nations respect each other”.
The SEE University Professor, Imer Ismaili, pointed out that the functioning of the Commission’s portal in Albanian is a true step towards the global Euro-Atlantic values, and according to the national conventions, every citizen has the basic right to be informed.
