A delegation composed of experts of SIGMA evaluating mission, led by Mr. Simon James, today visited the Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information. The purpose of the visit of the Mission, which on their three-day agenda had the Cabinet of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Macedonia, General Secretariat of the Government and several ministries, was through dialogue at the working level, to become acquainted with the situation of the evaluated institutions, which then will be submitted to the European Commission, respectively that will be an integral part of its report that Macedonia should be expected at the end of May.
After the detailed review of six years work of the Commission, presented by the President of the Commission, Mr. Pece Tashevski and the previously obtained statistical and other written materials prepared by the Secretariat of the Commission, the leader of the SIGMA evaluating mission, Mr. Simon James thanked for the unexpected comprehensive report, briefly said: “You left me without questions!”.
Within the specified visit SIGMA experts, among other things, the Commission agreed this year to meet through the transfer of their experience, to help newly formed (or in the process of establishing) allied institutions in neighboring countries and the region.
