The President of the Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information, Janko Nikolovski, has been invited to take part at the 6th International Conference of Information Commissioners that will take place in Oslo, Norway, September 27th to 30th, 2009. Participants from many countries are expected to take part at this Conference.
The participants will discuss the following topics and will exchange experiences in the field of:
1. Challenges and opportunities in the face of new information technology
2. Access to environmental information
3. Public official’s attitudes towards public access to information
4. The financial crisis – FOI’s role
The conference is important to further strengthen co-operation on enforcing access to information legislation, and provides an opportunity for information commissioners or their equivalent around the world to meet and share their experiences, as well as discussing new challenges surrounding these issues.
