About 900 official persons passed the trainings, all from the state administration bodies, public enterprises and institutions, judicial authorities, local self government, educational and health care institutions, as well as the legal and physical entities and institutions that perform public interest activities in this country.
The trainings are part of the activities from the project “Technical Assistance and Rising of the Awareness for the Support of the Application of the Law on Free Access to Public Information” in RM, realized with the financial support of the Embassy of Great Britain, approved by the Government of the Republic of Macedonia.
These trainings were held in Ohrid, Strumica, Kicevo, Gevgelija, Kavadarci, Bitola, Prilep, Kocani, Stip, Gostivar, Tetovo, Veles, Kumanovo, Probistip, Kratovo, Delcevo, Berovo and Kriva Palanka. Implementers of the projects are the Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information and the Macedonian Institute for Media.
The practical realization of the project begun about one year ago with the training for the members of the Commission and the employees in the Expert Service, as well as with the two trainings for official trainers selected from the state administration and the nongovernmental sector.
These trainings are expected to contribute to a more transparent and more responsible functioning of the institutions, i.e. of the persons ion charge for mediating public information.
