The president of the Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information, Pece Tashevski and the chief of the Mission of OSCE in Skopje, the Ambassador Ralf Bret, today in the premises of the Commission signed Memorandum for cooperation. With the Memorandum, both parties are obliged to cooperate in the realization of the Project,, Promotion in the principles in good governing in accordance with the provisions of Ohrid Framework Agreement’’.

The project will encompass 22 mixed ethnic municipalities: Butel, Brvenica, Cair, Jenugovce, Cashka,Kumanovo, Tetovo, Sopishte, Studenicani, Petrovec, Zelenikovo, Krushevo, Struga, Debar, Kicevo, Zajas, Oslomej, Gostivar, Shuto Orizari, Saraj, Tearce, and city Skopje. Each municipality will be represented with 3-4 representatives (officials obligated to mediate with public information), representatives of the media and representatives of the nongovernment sector. It is projected to hold four two- day trainings with 20 or 25 participants from mixed ethnic regions, that would be realized in the period May-September. It is expected the trainings to contribute improvement of the efficiency in the work and transparency of the municipalities, firstly from the aspect of prompt responding of requests for access to public information.

Expressing satisfaction from the signed Memorandum, the ambassador Bret, pointed out that the activities of the Commission supported from the OSCE Mission in Skopje, will be a motivation for greater institutional response and responsibility, that will contribute also for the increasing of the transparency, as well as for greater participation of the citizens in realizing of relatively new constitutional right. He pointed out that is honoured that the Commission has its partner and expressed readiness in continuing with cooperation also in other areas from common interest.
