The workshop that was held in 06 and 07 June in hotel ‘’Klimetica’’ in Ohrid on topic: ,, Realization of the right for free access to public information, citizen participation in decision making and communication skills’’ the joint project of OSCE Mission in Skopje and Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information it was completed. The project encompassed 27 municipalities in Republic Macedonia with mixed ethnic combination and near 80 representatives from the Associations of citizens and foundation, from media, as well officials and counsellors of local self-government.
Participants in the workshop reached knowledge how to realize the right of free access to public information, as well communication skills and participation of citizens in decision making. Visitors, whose interactivity was on high level, justifies the basic purpose of workshops as raising public awareness and the degree of familiarity of information holders with the Law for Free Access to Public Information, the right and the obligations which emanate from it. According to their opinions, expressed in the questionnaires of the evaluations, the workshops met their expectations, raised their knowledge, and the same are useful for their work and will suggest it to their colleagues.
Trainers of workshops were experts from the OSCE Mission in Skopje and from the Commission for Protection of the Right to Free Access to Public Information.
The cooperation between Commission and OSCE will continue also in the next period by mutual organization of roundtable discussion and will discuss for the above mentioned topics.
