In the framework of the Commission for PRFAPI for a better introduction of the Law on Free Access to Public Information and its adequate use, the members of the Commission realized 17 working visits to the units of local self management. Contacts were made with the mayors and the members of the councils, as well as with the representatives from the larger public enterprises and official persons for handling public information from the municipalities of Berovo, Pehcevo, Veles, Caska, Lozovo, Sveti Nikole, Stip, Ohrid, Struga, Debar, Kicevo, Strumica, Vasilevo, Novo Selo, Demir Kapija, Negotino and Kavadarci.
These meetings were used to exchange opinions on the first experiences from the application of the Law on FAPI. The obligations of the Law that are posed to the municipalities were frequently mentioned.
According to the information from the officials in the municipalities, the citizens are not yet well informed about the existence of this Law. Therefore the need for organizing a strong national campaign was emphasized.
The representatives of the Commission gave large informative and promotional materials to the municipalities, the law regulation, as well as guides for applicant for information and for official persons.
The Commission announced new mini trainings for the official persons of the information holders and for applicants for information, as well as publishing of brochures, flyers etc., aimed for a better implementation the Law.
